Foreword
FOSS stands for Free and Open Source Software.
The keyword here is "Free" which, in this case stands for Freedom of use. Using it and if necessary, modifying it for our own purposes.
FOSS is as a subset of the whole software universe, but also a lifestyle. Once you realize the freedom you have with Free Software, you understand why it is preferable, even if, in some cases, there are some trade-offs to be made.
As I talk about my own adventures with FOSS and its advantages, I may also highlight those trade-offs appropriately.
